Y-Not Australian Shepherds a family adventure:
In 2001 daughter, Gayle Kukulka, came from Wisconsin to visit Mom and Dad (Helen and Earl Thompson) in California. She brought with her her young Aussie, Cadie. Gayle shared the adventures that she and Cadie enjoyed together. Mom and Dad fell in love with Cadie and decided they needed to re-visit having another dog. Of course it had to be an Aussie. So the search began and with Gayle's help, Earl and Helen became the proud owners of Flybynite's Keeper of the Stars aka Rowdy. And so the saga began.
Currently, we operate in two locations. Y-Not North is located in Appleton, WI and is maintained by daughter, Gayle Kukulka and granddaughter Meagan. All breeding is done at this location. Puppies are whelped, raised, and socialized in the house. Gayle currently teaches dog training for a local pet store in Appleton. She also is a member of the Winnigamie Kennel Club where she is on the Board of Directors and teaches Puppy and Basic Obedience classes on a volunteer basis. She is kept very busy training her own Aussies and competing in Conformation, Agility and Herding.
Y-Not South is located in Los Lunas, New Mexico where Mom and Dad now reside. While they are retired they currently enjoy their six Aussies and still compete in Agility and Conformation. Of course they now have some awesome handlers who help with this. Helen and Earl can be seen working around their home with all the dogs following along. In the evenings when they sit down to enjoy TV or read, all six dogs are curled up at their feet or sitting in their laps.
